The product
Does Mjolnir install anything in my cluster?
No. There is no agent, no pod, no CRD and no Helm chart. It talks to the API server with the credentials already in your kubeconfig, exactly as kubectl does, so a read-only token stays a read-only token.
Does it install anything on my machine?
No. The image scanner and Helm are inside the download. There is no daemon, nothing in your login items, and nothing added to your PATH. Uninstalling is moving the app to the bin.
Where does my data go?
Your clusters, containers, object stores, databases and hosts are reached straight from your machine, as you. Mjolnir contacts mjolnir.sh for updates, licensing and optional telemetry, and a URL that is not under that apex is refused before a request is made.
Which platforms does it run on?
macOS on Apple silicon and Intel, and Linux as an AppImage or a deb. Windows is a build target rather than a rewrite and is not released yet.
What does it cost?
Thirty days of the whole product with no card, then $9 per person per month or $90 a year, on up to five machines. Nothing is held back during the trial.
Is it open source?
The source is public under the Elastic Licence 2.0 and the repository is the whole app. You can read it, build it and run it; you cannot resell it as a service.
Buying
How does the trial work?
Download, sign in with an email address, and the whole product is yours for 30 days with no card. When it runs out the app keeps opening and everything you set up stays; reading a cluster stops until you subscribe. One extension is granted on the spot from inside the app.
Do I need a card to start?
No. A card is asked for only when you subscribe, and by Paddle rather than by us.
Who takes the payment?
Paddle.com, as the merchant of record. They handle the card, the tax for where you are, the receipt and the invoice. We never see a card number.
Is there a discount code box?
On the checkout. Paddle owns coupons: a code is created there, entered on the checkout and applied to the total you see before you pay. A link that carries a code fills it in for you.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. 14 days from the first payment, any reason, all of it back. Email [email protected] from the address you paid with.
How do I cancel?
From the link in any Paddle receipt, or by email. The licence runs to the end of the period you paid for and does not renew after that.
Your licence
How many machines can I use it on?
Five. A seat is held by a machine that is using it, not by a person, and signing a machine out on the licence page frees its seat that second.
I got a new laptop. What do I do?
Sign in on the new one. If all five seats are taken, open the licence page, sign out the machine you no longer use, and try again.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The licence is a signed file your machine checks by itself. It works on a plane, in an air-gapped office, and if this website goes away.
I lost my licence key.
Open the licence page and enter the address you bought with. If a licence was issued to it, a link arrives by email. The app also picks the key up by itself when you sign in.
What happens when my subscription ends?
The app still opens and your clusters, connections, settings and history are all still there. Reading a cluster stops. Nothing is deleted.
Teams
Can a team buy it?
Yes. A team gets a seat count you set, central billing on one invoice, and single sign-on through Okta or your own identity provider with SCIM so that removing somebody in your directory takes their seat back. Email [email protected].
Can we pay by invoice or purchase order?
Yes, for annual team plans. Vendor forms and security questionnaires are answered too; the threat model is published in the repository.
